Clinical analysis of CBX2 protein in colon cancer tissues on predicting distant metastasis after laparoscopic radical resection in elderly patients with colon cancer
[Objective]To analyze the relationship between chromobox homolog 2(CBX2)protein in co-lon cancer(CC)tissues and distant metastasis after laparoscopic radical resection in elderly CC patients, and its efficacy on predicting distant metastasis after operation.[Methods]The data of 119 elderly patients with CC who underwent laparoscopic radical resection and completed 3 years of follow-up from May 2016 to May 2018 were collected,CBX2 protein in pathological tissues were detected, the general characters and re-lated examination data were collected;the occurrence of distant metastasis in patients during the follow-up period was counted and divided into groups, related baseline data and CBX2 protein expression were collect-ed and compared, the relationship between CBX2 protein in CC tissues and distant metastasis after laparo-scopic radical resection and the efficacy on predicting the risk of distant metastasis were analyzed.[Results]Among the 119 patients completed 3 years of follow-up,18 patients had distant metastasis, and the metas-tasis rate was 15.13%;the proportions of TNM/T stage Ⅲ and lymph node metastasis, levels of carcino-embryonic antigen(CEA)and carbohydrate antigen 199(CA199)and expression of CBX2 protein in distant metastasis group were higher than those in non metastasis group, and the difference was statistically signif-icant(P<0.05);there was no statistical significant difference in other baseline data between the two groups(P>0.05);through Logistic regression analysis, the results showed that high TNM/T stage, lymph node metastasis, elevated CEA,elevated CA199 and overexpression of CBX2 protein might be the risk fac-tors of distant metastasis in elderly patients with CC after laparoscopic radical resection(OR>1,P<0.05);the ROC curve was drawn and showed that the AUC of CBX2 protein in CC tissues for predicting the risk of distant metastasis in elderly patients with CC after laparoscopic radical resection was more than 0.800.which had certain predictive value.[Conclusion]The distant metastasis of elderly patients with CC after laparoscopic radical resection may be related to the overexpression of CBX2 protein in tissues, and CBX2 protein has certain predictive value for distant metastasis in elderly patients with CC.
