Pharmacological treatment and monitoring of bronchiectasis co-infection caused by mycobacterium avium:a case report
This article reported a case with bronchiectasis co-infection caused by mycobacterium avium,in which a clin-ical pharmacist participated in the process of pharmacological treatment and monitoring in the absence of guidance from drug susceptibility testing.Clinical pharmacists analyzed the patient's history,diagnostic and treatment history,physiological char-acteristics of the disease,and the current condition,and assisted in the selection of the initial therapeutic regimen through evi-dence-based assistance.Meanwhile,clinical pharmacists implemented pharmaceutical care from the aspects of medication safety,efficacy,precautions for medication,and medication compliance,and adjusted the recommendations of drug therapy according to the characteristics of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic characteristics of the medications.The advice sug-gested by clinical pharmacists was adopted and implemented by the physicians when the effectiveness of the initial therapy was not significant.The patient was discharged from the hospital with a good clinical outcome.
