Applying generative artificial intelligence models based on clinical practice guidelines to develop educational materials for fibromyalgia patients
Objective To efficiently produce educational materials for fibromyalgia patients based on clinical practice guidelines using the generative artificial intelligence(AI)model—ChatGPT 4.0,aiming to improve diagnostic and treatment ef-ficiency and assist patients in accurately understanding and managing fibromyalgia. Methods Systematic searches were con-ducted in English databases such as PubMed and Embase,as well as Chinese databases including CNKI,WanFang Data, and SinoMed(from January 1,2000,to January 29,2024),to select guidelines/consensus documents relevant to the diagnosis and treatment of fibromyalgia. The ChatGPT 4.0 was utilized to create educational materials, which were then vetted for accura-cy by professionals. The readability of these materials was assessed using readability assessment tools. Results Twelve guidelines/consensus documents met the inclusion criteria. The produced educational materials contained 18 questions and answers. The readability assessment indicated the materials were on par with a middle school level. Conclusion The combined use of clini-cal practice guidelines and the ChatGPT 4.0 model to create patient education materials is feasible and efficient, with good sci-entific rigor, professionalism, and readability.
