Leptospirosis with Jarisch-Herxheimer reaction:a case report
This article presents a 53-year-old patient who presented with fever,cough with bloody sputum,respiratory dysfunction,diffuse alveolar hemorrhage on imaging,muscle soreness in both lower limbs,liver dysfunction,and jaundice as the main clinical manifestations.Leptospira interrogans was detected by next-generation sequencing.The patient was later diagnosed with leptospirosis,and Jarisch-Herxheimer reaction(JHR)occurred during the treatment with penicillin.Clinical pharmacists assisted in providing appropriate antimicrobial therapy,as well as the identification and treatment of JHR.Then the patient's condition was improved and finally discharged from the hospital.
