Progress in research on nasogastric administration of different dosage forms of drugs
As a crucial drug delivery method for patients in critical condition,nasogastric administration presents numerous practical difficulties.Any incorrect handling of special dosage forms and coated medications,particularly when administered nasally,may reduce their effectiveness and raise the possibility of negative side effects.Because of this,rigorous evaluation is necessary prior to administration in order to guarantee the safety and effectiveness of nasogastric administration.However,there is a lack of systematic and comprehensive practice guidelines and operation standards in the field of nasal administration in China,and there is no drug dosage form specifically designed for the nasal route,which brings great trouble to clinical operations.In order to address this situation,relevant literature were searched and China's basic drug catalogue and medical insurance catalogue were referred in this article.It also discussed and summarized aspects like drug formulation and manufacturing processes to screen appropriate medications for nasogastric administration,aiming to provide scientific and rational medication recommendations for clinical use.
