A case of clinical pharmacist participating in the treatment of Wernicke's encephalopathy caused by hyperemesis gravidarum
This paper reports a case of clinical pharmacist participating in the treatment of Wernicke's encephalopathy(WE)caused by hyperemesis gravidarum with high-dose vitamin B1 supplementation.Clinical pharmacists assisted physicians in formulating treatment plans for supplementing vitamin B1 and filing medication beyond the instructions based on the specific situation of the patient and WE related diagnosis and treatment guidelines, and providing pharmaceutical monitoring and medication education for the patient. After diagnosis and treatment, the patient's WE symptoms improved significantly and were discharged smoothly.Clinical pharmacists played an active role in the treatment of WE caused by hyperemesis gravidarum, promoting individualized medication in clinical practice.
