Clinical pharmacists participated in the anti-infective treatment of actinomycete chest abscess in children:a case report
This article reported a case of a clinical pharmacist participating in the anti-infective treatment process of actinomycete chest abscess in a pediatric patient.Based on evidence-based medicine, the characteristics of the patient's condition, the epidemiological characteristics of pathogens, and the bactericidal activity of antibiotics, clinical pharmacists suggested de-escalating from cefoperazone sodium and sulbactam sodium which was a high-level antibiotic with wide antibacterial spectrum to penicillin which is am antibiotic with narrow antibacterial spectrum but with definite curative effect. At discharge, the choice of maintenance antibiotic and the duration of anti-infective therapy was evaluated and recommended.Furthermore, the therapy regimen was adjusted because of the occurrence of adverse drug reactions after discharge.Through full-process pharmaceutical monitoring, precise medicationwas achieved to ensure the efficiency and safety of the pediatric patient. The anti-infective treatment and pharmaceutical monitoring of the patient in this case could provide references for the clinical treatments of similar cases.
