Economic evluation of medicines involves the application of multidisciplinary research methods including economics,epidemiology,and biostatistics to compare the costs,benefits,effects and utility of different treatment plans,thereby assessing their economic value.The results of pharmacoeconomic evaluation have been widely used by many countries for drug formulary inclusion,cost regulation,price formulation,and medical insurance reimbursement and compensation,playing an important role in improving the efficiency of medical and health resource allocation.The economic evaluation of medicines includes important steps such as defining research questions,assessing applicability and timeliness,and evaluating methodological quality.This chapter aims to describe the methods of utilizing the findings of pharmacoeconomics assessment and relevant information to quickly evaluate the economic viability of drugs in the process of comprehensive drug evaluation.Relevant elements and evaluation frameworks are recommended,while the foundation and methods for economic decision-making in clinical medication process are also provided.
