Treatment regimen and pharmaceutical care in diabetic gastroparesis complicated with anxiety and/or depression
The article reported the treatment process of three cases of diabetic gastroparesis(DGP)complicated with anxiety and/or depression.Clinical pharmacists implemented pharmaceutical care for DGP-symptom-oriented medical treatment during ward rounds.They assisted patients in dietary adjustments and monitor both parenteral and enteral nutrition support.This included recommendations for appropriate administration routes,infusion rates,analysis and management of enteral nutrition intolerance,and blood glucose control during nutritional support.In the meantime,pharmacists provided patient education and post-treatment monitoring of prokinetics and neuromodulators,such as antidepressants,to enhance medication acceptance and adherence.Three patients improved and were discharged from the hospital.
