Comparison on effect of proximal humerus locking plate versus intramedullary nail in the treatment of proximal humerus fracture
Objective To compare the clinical effects of proximal humeral locking plate and intramedullary nail on proximal humeral fractures.Methods Ninety-five patients with proximal humerus fracture in Puyang People's Hospital from January 2021 to December 2022 were selected as the study objects and divided into observation group(n=47)and control group(n=48)by random number table method.The control group was treated with proximal humerus locking plate,and the observation group was treated with intramedullary nail.The operation time and incision length,fracture healing time and neck shaft angle,motion range of shoulder joint at one week and one month after operation functional score of shoulder joint after operation and complication rates were compared between the two groups.Results The operation time and incision length in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group(P＜0.05).The fracture healing time and difference of neck-shaft angle in the observation group were less than those in the control group(P＜0.05).One week after operation,the motion range of shoulder joint in the observation group was greater than that in the control group in flexion,abduction,and external rotation(P＜0.05).At 1 month after operation,the motion range of shoulder joint in the observation group was greater than that in the control group in flexion,abduction,external rotation,and internal rotation(P＜0.05).The shoulder joint function scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group at 1 month,3 months and 6 months after operation(P＜0.05).The excellent and good rate of shoulder joint function score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(P＜0.05).The incidence of complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusions Compared with proximal humerus locking plate treatment,the operation time and incision length of intramedullary nail treatment are shorter,which can better improve the motion range of the patient's shoulder joint,improve the function of the shoulder joint after operation,and at the same time has high safety.
