Effect of dextran iron oral liquid combined with vitamin C on serum ferritin content in children with iron deficiency anemia
Objective To analyze the effects of dextran iron oral liquid combined with vitamin C on serum ferritin content in children with iron deficiency anemia(IDA).Methods One hundred and twenty children with IDA in Zhengzhou University Affiliated Children's Hospital from September 2019 to April 2022 were selected and randomly divided into an observation group and a conventional group, with 60 cases in each group. The conventional group was given iron dextran oral solution, while the observation group received a combination of vitamin C on the basis of the conventional group. The therapeutic effects, blood routine[red blood cell count(RBC),hemoglobin(Hb),serum iron(SI),serum ferritin(SF)]levels, mean corpuscular volume(MCV),mean hemoglobin concentration(MCHC)levels, and adverse reactions between the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was 95.00%(57/60),which was higher than that in the conventional group[80.00%(48/60)](P<0.05).The correction time for anemia in the observation group was shorter than that in the conventional group(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of RBC,Hb,SI,and SF in the observation group were higher than those in the conventional group(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of MCV and MCHC in the observation group were higher than those in the conventional group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions The combination of iron dextran oral solution and vitamin C has a definite effect on children with IDA,which can improve the blood routine indicators, alleviate anemia symptoms, and is safe.
