Relationship between nutritional risk index and hyperuricemia in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes
Objective To investigate the relationship between nutritional risk index(NRI)and hyperuricemia(HUA)in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods A prospective study was conducted to include 134 elderly patients with type 2 diabetes admitted to the Department of Endocrinology of the Second People's Hospital of Hebi from January 2020 to December 2022.Their nutritional risk was assessed by NRI,and HUA was assessed by the levels of serum uric acid. The relationship between NRI and HUA in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes was analyzed. At the same time, the ROC curve of subjects was drawn to investigate the evaluation value of NRI in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes complicated with HUA.Results Among the 134 elderly patients with type 2 diabetes,43 cases were complicated with HUA,accounting for 32.09%(43/134).The analysis of cramer'sv coefficient of chi square test showed that the risk level of NRI in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes was positively correlated with the occurrence of HUA(r>0,P<0.05).The ROC curve was drawn, and the results showed that the area under the curve(AUC)of the elderly type 2 diabetes patients complicated with HUA evaluated by NRI was>0.8,which was of good value. Conclusions NRI is positively correlated with the occurrence of HUA in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes, and the higher the risk level of NRI,the higher the incidence of HUA,and NRI has a good evaluation value in the occurrence of HUA in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes.
