Effect of modified Xiaofeng Sanjie decoction on children with adenoid hypertrophy
Objective To analyze the effect of modified Xiaofeng Sanjie decoction on children with adenoid hypertrophy.Methods A total of 80 children with adenoid hypertrophy treated in Xinyang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from August 2022 to September 2023 were selected as the study objects,and were divided into observation group and control group according to random number table method,with 40 cases in each group.The control group adopted conventional western medicine treatment,and the observation group adopted Xiaofeng Sanjie decoction on the basis of control group.The clinical effect,TCM syndrome score,nasopharyngeal X-ray score,EOS,Eotaxin,interleukin-4(IL-4),tumor necrosis factor α(TNF-α)and recurrence rate of two groups were compared.Results The total effective rate of observation group[97.50％(39/40)]was higher than that of control group[80.00％(32/40)](P＜0.05).After treatment,the scores of nasal congestion,snoring and open mouth breathing in observation group were lower than those in control group(P＜0.05).The nasopharyngeal X-ray score of observation group was lower than that of control group(P＜0.05).After treatment,the levels of EOS and Eotaxin in observation group were lower than those in control group(P＜0.05).The levels of IL-4 and TNF-α in observation group were lower than those in control group after treatment(P＜0.05).The recurrence rate of observation group[5.13％(2/39)]was lower than that of control group[25.00％(8/32)](P＜0.05).Conclusions Xiaofeng Sanjie decoction in the treatment of children with adenoid hypertrophy can reduce inflammatory reaction and allergic reaction,improve the clinical symptoms and curative effect,and reduce the recurrence rate.
