Objective Endothelial lipase(LIPG)plays a key role in lipoprotein metabolism, cytokine expression and cellular lipid composition.Until now, extensive research on LIPG has focused on its mechanisms and involvement in metabolic syndromes such as atherosclerosis. However, recent studies have found that LIPG plays an important role in malignant tumors. This article reviews the research field of LIPG,focusing on the role of LIPG in lipid metabolism, and highlights the latest evidence of its involvement in the development and progression of malignant tumors. Finally, this review discusses the potential of targeting LIPG in therapeutic strategies.
