Triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC)is usually found in the younger female population and is one of the most aggressive subtypes of breast cancer. With the gradual deepening of clinical research on TNBC,androgen receptor(AR)has shown its important role as a therapeutic target. At present, the researches on AR negative-TNBC,namely quadruple-negative breast cancer(QNBC)are limited, and there is a lack of clear treatment standards. It is of great significance to regard QNBC as an independent subtype of breast cancer to improve the efficacy of precision therapy. This article provides a comprehensive overview of the recent research progress on QNBC.It briefly introduces the epidemiology of QNBC and summarizes the detection methods of the AR.Additionally,it examines potential therapeutic targets associated with QNBC,in order to provide more effective treatment for patients with QNBC.
