Meta-analysis of the efficacy and safety of stereotactic radiotherapy and radiofrequency ablation for hepatocellular carcinoma
Objective To systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of stereotactic radiotherapy(SBRT)and radiofrequency ablation(RFA)for hepatocellular carcinoma. Methods Literatures were screened according to inclusion and exclusion criteria.Data was predefined and statistical analyses were performed using Review Manager 5.3 software to systematically compare the efficacy and safety of the two treatments. Results A total of 11 articles were retrieved.Meta-analysis showed that there was no significant difference in 1-year overall survival(OS)and 2-year OS between SBRT group and RFA group(P>0.05).It was found that the 3-year OS of SBRT group was lower than the RFA group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in 2-year local control rate(LCR)between the two groups(P>0.05),while the 3-year LCR of SBRT group was better than the RFA group(P<0.05).In terms of complications, there was no significant difference in grade 3 or above side effects between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion RFA has a better survival benefit in HCC treatment, while SBRT has a better local control effect. Both treatment regimes have a lower incidence of complications and good safety.
