Expression of SLC5A5 in breast cancer tissues and its correlation with molecular pathological classification
Objective To investigate the expression of solute carrier family 5A5(SLC5A5)in breast cancer tissues and the correlation with molecular pathological classification in breast cancer tissues.Methods TGGA database was used to analyze the expression of SLC5A5 gene in breast cancer tissues,and TIMER database was used to analyze the relationship between SLC5A5 expression and the prognosis of breast cancer.SLC5A5 expression in tumor tissues and adjacent tissues of 120 patients with breast cancer was detected by immunohistochemistry and qPCR,and relationship of SLC5A5 expression with clinicopathological parameters and pathological classification of breast cancer was analyzed.Results The online analysis of TGGA database showed that SLC5A5 gene was highly expressed in breast tissue(P<0.05).The cumulative optical density of SLC5A5 in breast cancer tissues was higher than that in adjacent tissues(6.28±0.72 vs.2.54±0.34),and the positive rate was higher than that in adjacent tissues[65.8%(73/120)vs.34.2%(38/120)];quantitative results of qPCR showed that the level of SLC5A5 mRNA in breast cancer tissue was higher than that in adjacent tissue(3.21±0.29 vs.1.03±0.15),and the above difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The SLC5A5 expression was not significantly correlated with age,tumor diameter and histological grade(P>0.05),but was related to lymph node metastasis,tumor staging and molecular pathological classification(P<0.05).Survival analysis showed that the expression of SLC5A5 was not related to the survival time of breast cancer patients with different molecular pathological types(P>0.05).Conclusion SLC5A5 is elevated in breast cancer tissue,and its expression is related to lymph node metastasis,tumor stage and molecular pathological classification,which has certain guiding value in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.
