Analysis of prognostic factors for patients with chondrosarcoma
Objective To investigate the efficacy and prognostic factors of surgical treatment in patients with chondrosarcoma. Methods The clinical data of 56 patients with chondrosarcoma who underwent surgical treatment from January 1,2008 to January 1,2019 were retrospectively analyzed and followed up.Survival analysis was performed using the Kaplan-Meier method, and multivariate analysis was performed using Cox proportional hazards regression model. Results Among the 56 cases of chondrosarcoma,38 patients underwent tumor resection,14 underwent reconstruction,1 underwent biopsy, and 3 underwent amputation. At the time of the last follow-up,39 patients were alive, and 17 patients died. The 5-year survival rate of chondrosarcoma patients after surgery was 69.6%.Univariate analysis showed that the 5-year survival rate of chondrosarcoma patients was related to age, tumor size, and Garde grade(P<0.05),but was not related to gender, tumor initial site and surgical method(P>0.05).The results of Cox multivariate analysis showed that Garde grade and tumor size were independent prognostic factors affecting the overall survival of chondrosarcoma patients(P<0.05).Conclusion Patients with chondrosarcoma have good survival outcomes after surgical treatment, and tumor size and Garde grade are independent prognostic factors affecting overall survival.
