Clinial observation of Brucea javanica oil injection combined with chemotherapy for advanced non-small cell lung cancer
Objective To investigate the effect of Brucea Javanica oil emulsion injection(BJOEI)on the efficacy and adverse effect of patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)underwent chemotherapy. Methods A total of 122 patients with advanced NSCLC from January 2022 to December 2023 were enrolled. The control group(n=61)received pemetrexed combined with platinum-based chemotherapy, while the BJOEI group(n=61)received 30 ml of BJOEI during each chemotherapy cycle in addition to the control group. The recent efficacy, blood routine indicators, physical condition, and adverse effect of the two groups were observed. Results After two cycles of treatment, the BJOEI group achieved 31 cases(50.8%)of PR,24 cases(39.3%)of SD,and 6 cases(9.8%)of PD,with an RR of 50.8%;The control group obtained 28 cases of PR(45.9%),22 cases of SD(36.1%),and 11 cases of PD(18.3%),with an RR of 45.9%.There was no significant difference in RR between the two groups(P=0.648).The levels of white blood cells, red blood cells, hemoglobin, and platelets decreased in the both two groups, with the control group showing more significant decrease compared to the BJOEI group(P<0.05).The ECOG scores of patients in the both two groups decreased, with the control group showing more significant decrease compared to the BJOEI group(P<0.05).The main adverse effect included gastrointestinal reactions, skin reactions and peripheral nerve reactions; The incidence of adverse effect in the BJOEI group was 49.2%,lower than 75.4%in the control group(P=0.001).Conclusion BJOEI has certain improvement on the survival status of patients with advanced NSCLC after chemotherapy, especially in improving bone marrow suppression and physical condition, and reducing adverse effect.
