Development Knowledge Cooperation:The Practices of Global Civilization Initiative in Latin America and the Caribbean
In the past two years,President Xi Jinping has successively proposed the Global Development Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative,both of which have"been well received,especially by developing countries,and have been turned from abstract ideas into concrete practices.At the same time,the resurgence of the Global South has opened up new development opportunities for South-South cooperation.Both China and Latin America and the Caribbean are members of the Global South facing the common task of further development,which urgently need to strengthen cooperation to achieve common development.In the long run,the most important way to achieve this goal is to promote development knowledge cooperation and enhance independent development capabilities.Chinese-style modernization is the refinement of China's century-long development experience and practice,which makes it China's best development knowledge.The development knowledge cooperation is an innovative practice that bridges the Global Development Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative.After initial explorations and innovative practices in the past two years,development knowledge cooperation between China and Latin America has continued to solidify,and as a result,the China-LAC Alliance of Knowledge for Development platform has been established with the goal of"knowledge for development and cooperation for development".The paper aims to explore the necessity and feasibility of development knowledge cooperation in the context of the Global South.Based on this,it systematically reviews the explorations and innovative practices in the field of development knowledge cooperation between China and Latin America in recent years.The paper also argues that the 10th Anniversary of the China-CELAC Forum in 2024 will provide new impetus for China-LAC development knowledge cooperation.In the future,the two sides should promote development knowledge cooperation with Chinese-style modernization as the core,so as to provide wisdom and strength for the upgrading of China-LAC comprehensive partnership in the new era.
