Qingyang city is the key area of ecological protection in Gansu province which has an important role in ecological construction and sustainable development. The effects of climate change on NDVI in Qingyang city were studied using Trend Analysis and Correlation Analysis. The data were based on NDVI and meteorology in Qingyang city from 2001 to 2021. The results show that: (1) the climate of Qingyang city showed a increasing trend of warm and wet in recent 21 years. The change rates of temperature and precipitation are respectively 0. 177℃ /10a and 5. 7965mm/ a. The climate of Xifeng district is wet and rainy, while the climate of Huan County is less rainy and dry. (2) The vegetation coverage showed a steady improvement trend, the change rates of NDVI is respectively 0. 056/ 10a, the spatial distribution of NDVI showed an increasing trend from northwest to southeast, and the NDVI of Heshui County was the largest, the NDVI of Huan County was the smallest. (3) The climate (temperature and precipitation) was positively correlated with NDVI, precipitation(P =0. 472)(P < 0. 05) was significantly correlated with NDVI. Precipitation is the dominant factor in affecting NDVI of Qingyang City.
