Landscape plants play an indispensable role in our daily life.The germplasm resources of landscape plants are rich and diverse in China.Research institutes and universities have made great progress in the research and exploration on landscape plants in many aspects.However,the systematic investigation and research on land-scape plants started relatively late,and the researches on germplasm resources of landscape plants are not systemat-ic enough.Based on this,we summarized the conservation methods for germplasm resources of landscape plant,in-cluding situ conservation,remote conservation and field return.We analyzed the research status of landscape plant germplasm resources from the perspectives of the creation of new varieties,regulation of fine ornamental traits,ge-netics and evolution,and seed research.Some problems such as the continuous collection and conservation of germ-plasm resources,the propagation and utilization of bulbous plant germplasm resources,and the innovation of utiliza-tion and management of landscape plants were prospected to provide references for further research,conservation and utilization of landscape plant germplasm resources.
