General Entomology is a core basic course for plant protection and forest protection majors and an impor-tant part of undergraduate learning content.So the learning effect of this course determines the students'learning efficiency and interest in entomology.With the rapid development of the subject and the needs of the new agricul-tural background,the teaching mode of general entomology also needs the continuous innovation.In order to pro-vide some ideas and inspiration for the teaching mode of General Entomology and to improve students'entomology learning effect and professional success,the author compares the teaching methods,mode,progress and require-ments in China and the United States with author's learning and teaching experience,innovates and designs the teaching of General Entomology in Gansu Agricultural University.
