From Life to Text:Theoretical Thinking Behind the Differences in Memory and Oral Presentation——Taking Jian Ao's Red Oral Stories as an Example
The difference in oral history is a key issue in the construction of contemporary public history. In the case of centennial memory, the credibility of the recollections of the people involved is relatively high, and the oral accounts of the people con-cerned also have a certain historical value. The differences in location between the center and the periphery, between the upper and the lower levels, determine the differences in the received information and the construction of memory, and also determine the differences in the oral history materials of different individuals.Taken together, different perspectives can lead to different perceptions and thus different interpretations of the causes and effects of events and even their nature.Examining the practice of collecting and editing Jian Ao's red oral stories,we can gain a deeper understanding of these issues.
