Yizhi Bookstore and Publication of Northeast New Poetry Collection
Yizhi Bookstore was a large-scale and competent private bookstore located in Changchun("New Beijing")during the period of the fall of Northeast China. Thanks to the efforts of renowned poet and bookstore editor Li Lengge,Yizhi Bookstore managed to maintain independence of publication with a great effort, and published eight new poem collections, accounting for approximately 1/4 of the total number of new poetry collections in the occupied areas of Northeast China. These poem collections not only included collections of famous poets, but also manifested the creative achievements of Northeast poets in the form of specialized collections. Many of the poems in these collections reflected the spiritual resistance made by poets in the occupied ar-eas of Northeast China to maintain national integrity, which won a certain degree of freedom for the development of new poetry in the harsh environment of colonial rule. Therefore,in terms of both publication history and the significance of poetry history,Yizhi Bookstore has made outstanding contributions to the development of new poetry in Northeast China.
