Discussion on transforming a 400 kt/a pyrite based sulfuric acid plant into a sulfur based sulfuric acid plant
By comparing the key indicators and equipment of the pyrite based and sulfur based sulfuric acid plants,the feasibility of transforming a 400 kt/a pyrite based sulfuric acid plant to sulfur based sulfuric acid plant is explored,and the process flow after the transformation is introduced.The conclusion is that it is feasible to transformation a pyrite based sulfuric acid plant into a sulfur based sulfuric acid plant.The core equipment can continue to be used,only by adding sulfur incineration boiler and boilers,grafting with the old unit's dry suction and conversion,and modifying the conversion heat exchange process.Compared with building a new sulfur based sulfuric acid plant with the same production capacity,the investment of the sulfur based sulfuric acid plant through grafting pyrite based sulfuric acid plant saves 40%to 50%.Compared to the old plant,the production capacity can be increased by 25%.
