Research progress on several key technologies of converter steelmaking
As the main steelmaking method for smelting high-quality steel in the world,the progress and development of converter steelmaking technology have a huge driving effect on energy conservation,emission reduction,cost reduction,and efficiency increase in the steel industry.This article introduces the research and progress of several key technologies for converter steelmaking in China.Firstly,the melting behavior of scrap steel was studied from both theoretical analysis and practical exploration,revealing the melting mechanism of scrap steel.Secondly,the research on the flow characteristics of the converter melt pool by injection methods and bottom blowing processes was analyzed and summarized.Thirdly,the development status and prospects of converter endpoint control technology were introduced from two aspects:metallurgical mechanism and data model.Finally,from the perspective of overall optimization of metallurgical processes,the progress and existing problems of the integrated technology of steelmaking-refining-continuous casting were introduced from mathematical modeling to platform simulation.The development of intelligent converter requires more equipment,methods,and technology support,and the intelligent steelmaking of converter is a comprehensive practical application case involving multiple disciplines such as metallurgy,automation,and computer science.
