Influence of RH vacuum time of low-carbon steel on cleanliness
In order to investigate the correspondence between vacuum time and inclusions in RH vacuum process,SPCC low-carbon steel without deoxygenation alloying during converter tapping was selected for experimental research on the cleanliness of molten steel during vacuum process. The research results indicate that:1)After Al deoxidation in RH,the main type of inclusions in steel is Al2O3 inclusions. The morphology of inclusions gradually changes from cluster like to individual inclusions, and the size decreases continuously.2)After 1 minute of aluminum deoxidation, there is a very large amount of inclusions. After 3 min of pure degassing, the number and density of inclusions show a significant decrease. In the 6 min pure degassing sample, the number of inclusions reaches the minimum and the size is basically less than 5 μm.After 9 min of pure degassing, the number of inclusions showed an increasing trend.3)For low carbon steel produced by the KR→BOF→RH→CC process without deoxidation alloying during converter tapping, the vacuum time of the molten steel in RH is controlled for 6-7 min after aluminum deoxidation, and the cleanliness of the molten steel can reach the optimal state. This study can provide useful reference for optimizing the RH vacuum treatment process and help improve the quality of low-carbon steel.
