Experimental study on pollution emissions from electric furnace treatment of urban abandoned waste
In the process of electric furnace steelmaking, adding urban waste such as discarded tires and plastic in steel scrap preheating unit can reduce the need for carbon-based additives. However, the combustion of waste materials in steel scrap preheating channel at high temperatures generates a large amount of pollutants.By studying pollutant generation of waste materials under different conditions, including varying temperatures, particle sizes, and residence times, optimal physical parameters and operating conditions for adding urban waste in the electric furnace steel scrap preheating unit were obtained. When utilizing urban waste to preheat steel scrap, without the addition of smoke treatment facilities, emissions can still meet the standard, making the process of electric furnace treatment of urban waste technically and economically feasible.
