A review on the recent advance of researches on methods of sample pretreatment in AAS determination of trace elements in environmental and food samples was presented,relating especially to the methods used commonly in AAS (including dry and wet digestion,microwave assisted digestion),new methods used in AAS determination of trace elements in environmental samples (including solid phase extraction,on-line enrichment and ultrasonic-assisted techniques)and new methods used in AAS determination of trace elements in food samples (including cloud point extraction,introduction of samples in suspension state and UV-irradiation decomposition)(37 ref.cited).
