Reasons for cracking of cable anchor used for fixing glass curtain walls
The cable anchor used for fixing a certain glass curtain wall experienced cracking during use.The reasons for the cracking of cable anchor were analyzed using macroscopic observation,chemical composition analysis,mechanical property testing,scanning electron microscopy and energy spectrum analysis,metallographic examination.The results show that the cracking mode of the cable anchor was intergranular corrosion cracking,and the solid solution treatment effect of the cable anchor was poor.A large amount of M23C6 carbides precipitated along the grain boundary,which reduced the resistance of the cable anchor to intergranular corrosion.Under the action of corrosive elements S and Cl,microcracks appeared on the outer surface of cable achor and extended inward along the grain boundary,ultimately led to the cracking of the cable anchor.
