Efficacy and safety of 0.01%atropine eye drops in children and adolescents with myopia
Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of 0.01%atropine eye drops in the treatment of myopia in children and adolescents. Methods 80 cases(160 eyes)of children and adolescents with myopia treated in the First People's Hospital of Zigong from January to December 2022 were selected as the study objects.According to different treatment methods, the patients were divided into conventional group and combined group, with 40 cases in each group.Combined group:0.01%atropine eye drops were used once a night before going to bed,1 drop each time for 6 months and wore frame glasses according to diopter and vision needs.Conventional group:wore frame glasses only. Both groups were followed up for 6 months. The axial length, diopter and safety indexes of the two groups were compared before and after treatment, and the occurrence of adverse reactions was observed. Results After treatment, the axial length and diopter of the eye in the conventional group and the combined group were increased compared with that before treatment, and the conventional group was greater than the combined group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After medication, the pu-pil diameter of the conventional group and the combined group increased compared with that before medication, and the combined group was larger than the conventional group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After medication, the regulatory flexibility, tear film rupture time, tear secretion volume and lacrimal river height of the conventional group and the combined group were decreased compared with those before medication, and the combined group was smaller than the conventional group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion 0.01%atropine eye drops can effectively slow down the growth of eye axis and myopia degree in children and adoles-cents with myopia, and control the progression of myopia in children and adolescents with good safety.
