Preliminary study on radiation skin injury of SD rats at different temperature and dose of 32 P
Objective To investigate the pathological status of radiation skin injury in SD rats caused by different temperature and dose of 32 P.Methods Forty-eight male SD clean rats were selected as the study subjects.A total of 48 rats were randomly divided into group A(10 Gy at room temperature),group B(10 Gy at low temperature),group C(30 Gy at room temperature),group D(30 Gy at low temperature),group E(60 Gy at room temperature)and group F(60 Gy at low temperature)with 8 rats in each group. It was irra-diated by 32 P beta rays. The skin injury area of rats was calculated, the skin injury score was performed and the pathological sections were stained with hematoxylin eosin. The percentage of skin damage area, skin damage score and pathological changes of rats in differ-ent irradiation time were compared. Results The percentage of skin damage area in group F was higher than that in group E at differ-ent irradiation times, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The skin injury scores of group D 1 week and 2 weeks after irradiation were higher than those of group C,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The pathological changes of exposed skin of rats in groups B,D and F at low temperature were earlier than those in groups A,C and E at room tempera-ture,and the damage degree was more serious. Conclusion The skin β-ray damage occurs early and progresses rapidly in low temper-ature environment, and the damage degree increases with the increase of irradiation dose.
