Evaluation of right ventricular function in patients with right coronary myocardial infarction after percutaneous coronary in-tervention using two-dimensional speckle tracking imaging
Objective To evaluate the morphological and functional changes of the right ventricle in patients with right coronary myo-cardial infarction after percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI)by using two-dimensional speckle tracking imaging(2D-STI).Meth-ods A total of 96 patients with ST segment elevation myocardial infarction due to severe stenosis of right coronary artery were selected from General Hospital of Northern Theater Command from January 2023 to January 2024.Conventional echocardiographic parameters and right ventricular 2D-STI parameters were recorded and compared before treatment, one week after treatment and three months after treatment. Results One week after treatment and three months after treatment, the systolic displacement, right ventricular area change fraction, peak systolic velocity, left ventricular ejection fraction and right ventricular ejection fraction of tricuspid ring were higher than those before treatment, with statistical significance(P<0.05).Systolic displacement of tricuspid valve ring, left ventricular ejection fraction and right ventricular ejection fraction were higher at three months after treatment than at one week after treatment, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).At one week and three months after treatment, the longitudinal strain(LS)of all segments of the right ventricular free wall and LS of all segments of the interventricular septum were higher than those before treat-ment,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).At three months after treatment,LS in each segment of the right ventricular free wall and LS in the basal segment of the ventricular septum were higher than those at one week after treatment, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion 2D-STI can quantitatively evaluate right ventricular systolic function and diastolic function, and can be used to evaluate the treatment effect and prognosis of patients with right coronary myocardial infarc-tion after PCI.
