Decline or Sublation:the Generational and Period Effects of Changes in the View of Filial Piety
Based on the dual filial piety model, this paper analyzed the generational and period effects of changes in the concept of filial piety by using data from the Chinese General Social Survey(CGSS)in 2006 and 2017.The results show that the generational effect of changes in filial piety is not significant, and the younger generation's filial piety does not show a"decline"trend. The period effect of changes in filial piety concept is significant, which means that the identification of authoritative filial piety has demonstrated a downward trend in the previous decade, while the identification of mutual filial piety has shown an increasing trend. That is,take its essence and discard its dregs. Therefore,it is necessary to conform to this trend of changes in the concept of filial piety, actively develop a concept of filial piety that adapts to the new era,and consolidate the cultural foundation of home-based care for the elderly.
