Practical Dilemmas and Optimization Paths of Community-and Home-Based Elderly Care:A Case Study of Comprehensive Eldercare Service Centers in Guangzhou
The development status, advantages, experience and practical dilemmas of integrated eldercare service centers(hereinafter referred to as"Yikang centers")in Guangzhou were summarized through case studies and structured interviews, with a view to providing empirical references for the development of community-and home-based care services. It is found that the"1+1+1>3"model of integrated elderly care services, the"Internet+eldercare"model, and the"nearby, cooperative and self-established"model of integrating community-and home-based care with medical care are the most important advantages of Yikang centers.Main problems faced by those organizations are limited profitability, poor stability of their service staff, and fragmented policies and insufficient service supply for integrated care.Optimization paths for the development of community-and home-based care services are proposed:focusing on matching supply and demand;actively exploring sustainable development models;expanding and optimizing the scale and structure of senior care talents;and promoting cross-sectoral collaboration and diversified service provision of integrated care.
