A Comparative Study on the Elderly-Oriented Renewal Demand of Four Types of Communities in Beijing
The objective of this study is to evaluate the elderly-oriented renewal needs of four types of old communities in Beijing and to provide suggestions for enhancing the feasibility of renewal strategies and improving the accuracy of renewal supply. The evaluation index system of elderly-oriented renewal of old communities was determined through expert consultation, and a questionnaire survey was carried out for the elderly in the main urban areas of Beijing with a high degree of population ageing.A total of 563 valid questionnaires were collected, and characteristics of the elderly residents of four types of residential areas were compared and analyzed. An evaluation index system for elderly-oriented renewal containing 2 first-level indexes,26 second-level indexes and 52 three-level indexes was established, and among the initial 26 second-level indicators,a list of 10 common indicators with a generally high degree of demand from the perspective of older adults was screened out,and a comparison was made between the 10 personalized indexes with obvious differences in the demand for ageing renewal. It is concluded that from the perspective of classification and elder needs,elderly-oriented renewal should be focused on the family courtyard of Danwei and the old residential areas(hutongs). It is proposed that community renewal planning should give attention to differentiated needs of older people in different types of living spaces to further promote the construction of elderly-friendly communities.
