Given the problems of severe abrasion,high failure rate,frequent replacement of chain scrapers and maintenance difficulty of scraper transfer conveyors in conveying bauxite ore,the belt transfer conveyor has been developed.The abrasion-resisting mechanism,construction and issues are presen-ted to be addressed of the belt transfer conveyor,as well as its application and performance in the transfer conveying at the fully mechanized mining work face.It is concluded that the belt transfer conveyor can increase ore production,save equipment maintenance cost,reduce operating cost,improve eco-nomic benefits,and is worthy of promotion.
