Re-Understanding the Driving Forces for the Commercialization of Chinese Online Literature:A Micro-Level Perspective Based on the Practices of Online Literature
The external environment has long been regarded as the main driving force for the commercialization of Chinese online literature,but such one-sided attribution of objective factors has obscured the inherent inevitability of the commercialization of online literature.Only by returning to the specific practices of online literature and examining the reading,writing and dissemination of online literature at the micro level can we truly reveal the internal logic of the commercialization of online literature.Hypertext theorists merely discuss theories and neglect the huge mismatch between the ideal readers of hypertext and the real traditional readers,digital aborigines,and video game users,which has led the researchers into making a wrong judgement of the pioneering development of online literature.Literary websites,as a kind of writing meta-program,have pushed online writing to break through the elite circle and start its vigorous popularization,but this writing model that confines user behaviors to the user level has squeezed the survival space of hypertext writing,and bound the development of online literature closely to that of literary websites.Online media has released the publication anxiety of the literary youth under the traditional literary system,and the new type of attention anxiety has led to the establishment of the online author qualification mechanism marked by the substantial accumulation of virtual prestige,and the online literary field with it as the positional capital.
