A Logic of Progression in the Platform Critique of Capitalism
Platform capitalism has become a new form of capitalism,presenting an overall new heterogeneity with high discourse heat.The current theoretical research on platform capitalism in domestic and international academic circles mainly shows the"juxtaposed"logic of profit,land rent and value.However,in view of the basic stance of Marxist political economy,this triple logic is not juxtaposed but progressive.Understanding the sources of profit of digital platforms in terms of advertising revenues,brand value and financial rents constitutes a primordial logic for understanding platform capitalism,but this understanding only explores the superficial logic of capital movements and fail to delve into the essence of the issue.Explaining the rents captured by digital platforms in the critical theory of digital land rent and techno-feudalism can effectively reveal the nature of the technological rent-seeking and digital enclosure movement of digital platforms,but this way of exploration also ignores the qualitative difference between traditional land rents and digital land rents.In Marx's labor theory of value,productive labor and value constitute the higher-order logic of platform capitalism,which is a scientific reflection of the research and narrative methods of Marxist political economy.
