"Unidirectional" Elders:Reflections on the Digital Inclusion of the Elderly Group from an Inclusive Perspective
Although the original intention of promoting the inclusion of the elderly into the digital society is precious, the current mainstream research overly relies on the potential assumption that technology can solve the aging problem. As a result, the drag-digital integration suppresses the self-confidence,self-esteem and self-respect of the elderly, and the overstepping of technological rationality suspends their individual autonomous choice, turning the elderly into"unidimensional"elders of the discourse structure of techno-optimism.The digital inclusion"in the name of love"is not the optimal solution for the elderly group;appropriate disconnection and return to offline communication may see a richer spiritual aspect of the elderly group.Embodied communication in the offline space is not the opposite of digital inclusion;instead, both are the two sides of solving the social integration problem of the elderly group from an inclusive perspective. They help the elderly maintain their existing social relationships to determine their self-worth,and better accept the digital feedback of the younger generation and the digital experience transmission of peers under the premise of following their intention of inclusion.
