Joint Patent Application and Regional Collaborative Innovation in the Integrated Circuit Industry:An Empirical Analysis Based on Data from Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta
Based on the data of 400,000 integrated circuit patents from 2010 to 2022,this paper uses complex network analysis methods to conduct an empirical study on the regional collaborative innovation of the integrated circuit industry from the perspective of joint patent application, taking Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta as specific research objects. The results show that:(1)Shanghai and the entire Yangtze River Delta region play an important role in the R&D and innovation of China's integrated circuit industry, and are also the most active regions for collaborative innovation, while Shanghai occupies a dominant position within the Yangtze River Delta.(2)In the Yangtze River Delta integrated circuit patent cooperation and collaborative innovation network, the number of cooperative institutions is gradually increasing, but the network density is low and the degree of cooperation still needs to be improved.(3)The formation of Shanghai's status as a regional collaborative innovation center for integrated circuits is the result of the joint action of national strategic layout, local government support, and leading enterprises. The characteristics and internal driving factors of the innovative cooperation between the Yangtze River Delta and Shanghai integrated circuit industries show that at this stage,in order to enhance the innovation capabilities of China's integrated circuit industry and other key industries and support the creation of an independent and controllable industrial chain and supply chain,it is necessary to give full play to the institutional advantages and guide and promote them through the effective cooperation of an effective government and an effective market.
