As the standard for defining the energy consumption level of enterprises,the energy efficiency indicators in key areas are essentially consistent with the cleaner production work,and they should be able to play a guiding role in pollution reduction and carbon reduction in the audit of cleaner production of enterprises.Through the study of the application and effect of energy consumption indicators in key steps such as potential evaluation,target setting,performance evaluation and other key steps in the audit process,and its comparative analysis with the industry cleaner production evaluation index system,this paper shows that energy consumption indicators can play an efficient and authoritative role in cleaner production audit,which can bring more practical expansion benefits to the audited enterprises and obtain more diversified funding channels and policy support for enterprises.With the continuous improvement of audit methods and ways,the application of energy efficiency indicators in cleaner production audit will increasingly become an indispensable auxiliary tool.
