With the continuous development of urbanization and modernization,the population continues to increase,the sewage treatment capacity tends to lag behind,and a large amount of untreated sewage is discharged into rivers and lakes,causing serious environmental pollution.This paper reviews the development history of river and lake health assessment at home and abroad,lists the development and application of prediction model,biological integrity index and water quality index in detail,analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of different evaluation methods and evaluation criteria,and briefly prospects the future work of river health assessment in China.
