The monitoring of odorous substances in source water is widely concerned, and geosmin and 2-methylisoborneol are the main sources of odorous substances in water. The research on analytical methods of geosmin and 2-methylisoborneol focuses on the sample pretreatment process. At present, the mainstream pretreatment methods are mainly headspace solid phase microextraction, purging and trapping, and headspace sampling.Through experimental analysis, headspace solid phase microextraction is the best pretreatment method.Referring to the analysis method in"Standard Testing Methods for Drinking Water Part 8:Organic Matter Indicators"(GB/T 5750.8-2023),the sample storage time,solid-phase microextraction fiber analysis, calibration curve, and detection limit were studied through experiments. The results showed that the collected water samples were refrigerated and stored in a dark place below 4 ℃,with a shelf life of up to 3 days;strictly control the flow rate of the sample inlet during extraction and analysis, ensuring that the diversion flow rate of the sample inlet is closed during analysis;the linearity of the calibration curves of geosmin and 2-methylisoborneol can reach 0.999,and the detection limits are 1.2 ng/L and 1.4 ng/L respectively, meeting the limit requirements of relevant standards. The method requires simple instruments and equipment, strong operability, and is suitable for promotion in testing laboratories at alllevels.
