With the rapid development of our society and the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy, the development of rural water supply has also ushered in a critical turning point. At present, research on rural water supply is complex and diverse, but there is a lack of analysis and summary of differences in rural water supply in the north and south. In response to this problem, the current situation of rural water supply project scale, water sources, investment, management, and water prices in the north and south was compared. The analysis results show that rural residents in the south live in scattered areas, have a high proportion of large-scale water supply projects, and have more abundant water resources, making the rural water supply environment vulnerable to pollution.Rural residents in the northern region live more densely.Due to restrictions on economic development, there are few new large-scale water supply projects and water resources are scarce. However, groundwater is the main water source, which is not easily polluted and the water environment is stable.
