In this study, electroflocculation was used to treat the leachate from the waste transfer station. The effects of anode material, current density, plate spacing, reaction time, initial pH value and electrolyte potassium persulfate on the COD removal efficiency of leachate were investigated respectively. The results showed that under the optimal reaction conditions, using the iron plate as the anode material,0.042 A/cm2 of the current density,1 cm of the plate spacing, and 7 of the initial pH value,3 h of the reaction time, the leachate COD could be reduced from 23 525 mg/L to 10 619 mg/L,and the removal rate could reach 54.86%.The addition of electrolyte potassium persulfate and electroflocculation cooperate to pretreatment of leachate, which can effectively strengthen the removal effect of electroflocculation reaction on the leachate COD.The COD removal rate in the initial stage of the reaction was relatively increased by 6.68%.However,when the electrolysis time was greater than 3 h,the strengthening effect of potassium persulfate was gradually weakened.
