In order to realize the fine control of water environment in Liaohe River basin in Liaoning Province,the efficiency of regional spatial management can be improved by the classification of river basins.Through the investigation of pollution sources in the study area,the analysis of the current situation of the basin and the social and economic conditions,17 indicators were selected to build the water environment supporting capacity system of Liaohe River basin in Liaoning Province for social and economic development,and the analytic hierarchy process+entropy weight method was used to give weight and then the superposition analysis was carried out to obtain the subdivision situation of the water environment supporting capacity of the basin for social and economic development.Five types of support areas are divided and corresponding control requirements and prevention measures are put forward to provide solid support for the long-term development of water environmental economy in the basin.
