Based on factor analysis and survey data, the annual carbon emissions and carbon sequestration of a certain college were calculated.Specifically, carbon emissions were calculated from three aspects:students, faculty and staff, and daily management.Carbon sequestration was calculated by classifying campus green spaces by type. The results showed:Students and faculty/staff had the highest carbon emissions in the"housing"sector, accounting for 49%and 61%respectively,while logistics management had the highest carbon emissions in daily management, accounting for 81%.The annual carbon sequestration was calculated for different types of campus green spaces, including arbor-shrub-grass,shrub-grass,lawn,grassland,and bamboo;the lawn type had the highest annual carbon sequestration, while the bamboo type had the lowest. The college's total annual carbon emissions were 70 746.07 tons, and its carbon sequestration was 1 474.60 tons, resulting in a high level of carbon deficit.Based on these findings, countermeasures were proposed for building a carbon-neutral campus from the perspectives of"emission reduction"and"sequestration enhancement,"aiming to help the school achieve carbon neutrality as soon as possible.
