Based on panel data of A-share manufacturing listed companies from 2015 to 2021,this study explores whether government environmental subsidies will affect the performance of manufacturing enterprises and their impact mechanisms.The results show that there is a positive correlation between government environmental subsidies and corporate performance,which promotes the performance of manufacturing enterprises;Mechanism testing shows that green innovation plays a partial mediating role in the impact of government environmental subsidies on long-term performance of enterprises;Heterogeneity analysis found that government environmental subsidies have a more significant promoting effect on the performance of non-state-owned enterprises,a stronger effect on the long-term performance improvement of enterprises in the eastern region,and a greater promoting effect on the short-term performance of large-scale enterprises.
